Starting in Lucerne and ending in Vienna, you will embark on an active walking holiday in the European Alps, where you’ll immerse yourself in breathtaking scenery and venture off the beaten track. Indulge your senses with authentic local cuisine, walk through flowering alpine meadows, with cowbells ringing across the valley, and travel on efficient European trains.
This isn’t your typical historical or city tour; instead, the majority of your time will be spent exploring alpine villages and meandering through the picturesque countryside. If you’re a keen walker with a penchant for nature and mountains, this itinerary promises to be more than just a delightful experience, but the trip of a lifetime!
Note – for maximum enjoyment of this walking holiday, you should have moderate to good fitness, and able to comfortably walk 4 to 6hrs on hilly terrain, for up to 16km. Some trails can be rocky, so tramping boots are recommended; however, sturdy hiking shoes with good tread will suffice.
